ABOUT THE RACE

The Ropley 10k Road Race is organised in association with Winchester and District Athletic Club.

Between 1988 and 2001, the event was run by Wessex Road Runners. Following an absence from 2002 to 2004, it was resurrected on Sunday 29th May 2005. Following that very successful occasion, it now takes place every year on the Sunday preceding the late May bank holiday.

Starting from St. Peter's Church, in the village of Ropley (near Winchester, Hampshire) the route takes in the local countryside, challenging participants' stamina as they encounter the delights of the rolling hills in this beautiful part of Hampshire. And, as previous event organiser Chris Bellwood has pointed out : "A word of caution for the super fast runners – this course is not flat ! ... There are three inclines, two of which are quite extreme."

A course profile and map are available on this website together with all the details and entry form.
