Despite the weather forecasters predicting a day of wind and rain, there was a good turnout at the Fair and a strong entry for this year’s Pram race. The rain never really materialised and the breeze helped to keep the Pram Race contestants cool. Plentiful spells of bright sunshine helped to keep everyone else happy and maintain a vibrant atmosphere.
This year's Pram Race was originally scheduled to take place on the late May Bank Holiday Monday (26th May). Due to extremely bad weather conditions on the day, the event was postponed and rearranged to coincide with the Village Fair this year.
As always, a variety of Pram’s took part in the event – from a teapot to horse drawn chariots, (well, the horses may not have been real, but they certainly looked the business and left authentic deposits as they made their way around the course !). A total of 44 entrants left the recreation ground and all returned safely to the finish line.
We have a number of photographs – presented in three galleries (see links below). Should you be interested, we can supply prints or copies of the images, (obviously without the watermarking). We are completing the necessary technical work to make prints and images available to purchase from this website shortly.
