Tues 31 May 2011 - Ropley 10k 2011 Photographs

Photos of the 2011 Ropley 10k Road Race are now available.

There are a small number of images where the competitor could not be readily identified due to their number being folded/missing/etc. We will endeavour to identify as many of these as possible and upload the photos into the appropriate albums in due course.

Tues 31 May 2011 - Local runners update

Subsequent to the information published on Sunday after the race, it has come to our attention that another local runner – William Nicoll – finished in 20th place with a time of 41m 37s, 2 places and 31 seconds ahead of previously mentioned first local runner Simon Pettinati. Well done and apologies to both runners.

Sun 29th May 2011 – Foxy out smarts the field in the 2011 Ropley 10k

Despite the weather forecasters predicting a dull day, this year's race turned out to be a comfortably warm event, if a little breezy in the open. With the first two runners close together after 4km, Julian Manning (Denmead Striders) just ahead of Stuart Fox (Bournemouth AC), it looked as though there may have been another close finish. But with 6km behind them, Fox had opened a marginal lead and went on to finish the race in 33m 34s, 45 seconds ahead of Manning who crossed the line in 34m 19s, Dave Woods (Denmead Striders) finished third in 35m 51s. Helen Wallington (Southampton AC) took the prize for First Lady for the second year in succession, finishing in 39m 4s. Simon Pettinati swept up the prize for first local runner – finishing in 42m 8s, Lynne Whitaker (Romsey Road Runners), was first Local Lady (43m 28s), just behind another local runner, Keith Purchase, who completed the course in 43m 21s. Sat 28 May 2011 - Race Day and Entries Update

Pre-registered entrants lists updated again – with data up to 28 May. Lists are available by surname, club and by entrant number on the Entrants page and are also available to download as PDF documents – which include an indication of whether your race number has been sent out or must be collected from the race entry desk on the day.

Sat 28 May 2011 - Getting excited ? – It's race day tomorrow

Its race day tomorrow – and race control will be open for entries from around 9am. It will close at 9.30am for the main event.

If you intend to enter on the day, it would help if you could bring along your completed entry form. Please allow yourself ample time to park, make your way to race control and register.

We have small number of T–Shirts, in various sizes from previous years – which we will be giving away for anybody who wants them on a first come first served basis.

Whether competing or coming along in support, we look forward to seeing you and hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

Mon 23 May 2011 - pre-registered entrants update ...

Pre-registered entrants lists updated again – with data up to 21 May. Lists are available by surname, club and by entrant number on the Entrants page.

Numbers and race programmes were posted on Saturday (21 May) for all pre-registered entrants received (ie. those appearing on the entrants list as of 21 May) – so should be with runners within the next few days.

Numbers and programmes for entrants received by the closing date (25 May) will be sent out if time allows – otherwise please collect your number on the day, (this will be indicated on the entrants list – which will be updated again when pre-registered entry closes).

Mon 23 May 2011 - Limited number of children's T-Shirts ...

We have a small number of Children's T-Shirts – these will be available on race day from the pavilion, on a first-come first-served basis, at £4 each.

Sat 21 May 2011 - Postal entry closes 25th May !

For those of you not yet registered, you have until the closing date of Wed 25th May, (entry forms must be received by the organisers no later than this date).

Entries may be permitted on the day, subject to a £3 surcharge, (children's races excepted), and the maximum race limit of 500 being reached.

Race entry on the day will close at 9:30am.

A £1.50 surcharge is now payable for postal entries – Please check entry details and ensure you enclose the correct fee with your entry form.

Sat 21 May 2011 - pre-registered entrants lists updated

We now have almost 200 pre-registered entrants for the main race and 30 for the children's races.

Pre-registered entrants lists for this year have been updated with data up to 17 May. Visit the Entrants page to view the lists.

Sat 14 May 2011 - Have you submitted your entry form ? ...

A £1.50 surcharge is now payable for postal entries – ie. those received after Sat 14th May. Please ensure you enclose the correct entry fee with your entry form.

Entrants pre-registered by Sat 21st May are guaranteed a free event T-Shirt.

The closing date for postal entries is Wednesday 25th May 2011. Entrants wishing to pre-register must ensure their entry forms are received by the organisers no later than this date.

Sat 16 April 2011 - Pre and post event Sports Massage

The students of Adult Continuing Education, of Peter Symonds College Winchester, will provide pre and post event Sports Massage on the day. The team will be located at the far end of the village hall on the left hand side - and weather permitting, may also have their equipment set up on the Recreation Ground. This year the team will provide their services for donations to the Joe Glover Trust - an organisation dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families in the UK. Sports Massage Team at last year's event ...
